The Edmund W. Miles Middle School Drama Club will be performing the musical, “Annie Jr.,” this weekend.

The show is scheduled for Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. and for Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m. All tickets will be sold at the door. Please come out to support our Middle School Drama Club. We hope to see you there!!

Special Person’s Day celebration at Northwest Elementary School

On May 10, parents from Mrs. Smith & Mrs. Faulkner's second grade class at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville were invited to a Special Person's Day event.

Parents had the opportunity to play against their children in a parents vs. kids Newcomb match in the gymnasium followed by a selfie station. Students gave their special person a hand drawn gift to celebrate a combination of Mother's Day and Father's Day to conclude the event.

Amityville celebrates 21st-century learning during STREAM Night

On May 13, the Amityville School District held its annual STREAM Night celebration for students from grades pre-K-5.

The celebration was held at Amityville Memorial High School’s gymnasium and cafeteria in which students enjoyed the wonders of 21st-century learning. Along with their families, students explored the burgeoning disciplines of science, technology, robotics, engineering, the arts and mathematics.

Additionally, members of the National Junior Honor Society set up different stations throughout the gymnasium as students participated in a variety of activities such as a cup pyramid challenge, a pipe cleaner tower challenge, a slime bar, KEVA planks and more.
