Park Avenue Memorial Strengthens Family Partnership Through Principal and Parents Roundtable

Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School welcomed families for a Principals and Parents Roundtable, creating an opportunity for parents to hear directly from school leadership about the work taking place each day to support students.
During the conversation, families received updates on curriculum and instruction, programs and activities taking place throughout the school, and upcoming events. The roundtable also included an open question-and-answer session, giving parents an opportunity to seek clarification, share feedback and better understand the learning experiences and priorities shaping their children’s school year.
Opportunities like the Principal and Parents Roundtable are an important part of Amityville’s commitment to keeping families informed and connected to their schools. The district’s communication framework emphasizes open, respectful dialogue and encourages questions from parents and community members so concerns can be addressed effectively.
That partnership also reflects a larger vision for student success. The New York State Portrait of a Graduate recognizes that preparing students for the future is a shared responsibility among educators, administrators, families, students and community partners. By creating regular opportunities for families to learn what is happening in classrooms, understand school initiatives and engage directly with leadership, Park Avenue Memorial is helping strengthen the connection between home and school.
It is also an example of what “One Tide. One Vision. Rising Together.” looks like in practice: schools and families working together with a shared commitment to helping every student learn, grow and thrive.
