Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • Many families may qualify for help buying groceries through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).  SNAP provides monthly benefits on an EBT card that can be used to purchase healthy food at participating stores.  Eligibility is based on household size, income, and certain expenses, and many working families qualify.

    Families can apply online through New York State, by phone, or through their local Department of Social Services.  A printable application and additional resources are available here:
