Northwest Elementary Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month Through Music and Culture

Northwest Elementary School came alive with music, tradition and cultural pride during a special Hispanic Heritage Month celebration that brought students, families and staff together.
Students took center stage throughout the celebration, performing songs they had been practicing and proudly sharing their hard work with their families and school community. Adding to the celebration, students wore traditional clothing representing their heritage, providing another meaningful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the cultures and traditions represented at Northwest.
More than a performance, the evening was an opportunity for students to take pride in who they are while learning about and appreciating the backgrounds and experiences of others. It also strengthened the connection between families and their school by creating a welcoming space where culture, tradition and student achievement could be celebrated together.
The district thanks the students, families and staff who helped make the celebration such a memorable evening and who continue to make Northwest a community where every student and family can feel a sense of belonging.
