Showing gratitude at Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School

Seven classes at Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School in Amityville are participating in the Growing Goodness Project, thanks to funding from the Human Potential Foundation.
A nonprofit organization, the Human Potential Foundation’s mission is to empower individuals and communities to unlock their full potential by providing support, resources, and opportunities for growth and development. Each student received a gratitude journal, “A Simple Seed” by Katie Wood. For 100 days, they will write, reflect and explore prompts that help them discover the power of gratitude.
To showcase what they are grateful for, the classes created a lobby display titled “From a Simple Seed to a Gratitude Tree.” Students and staff also launched a Thanksgiving food drive to continue spreading kindness and showing gratitude.
