Amityville’s 2025-26 SCOPE Education Services award recipients

The Amityville School District is pleased to announce the three newest SCOPE Education Services “Shining Stars” for the 2025-26 school year.
This year’s honorees are Ms. Sandra James, a teacher at Northwest Elementary School, who received the Teacher Service Award; Dr. John Cardone, principal at Amityville Memorial High School, who received the Administrator Service Award; and Ms. Sandra Donovan, the building principal secretary at Amityville Memorial High School, who received the Support Staff Service Award. Amityville’s remarkable honorees were selected due to their exemplary service to education and the Amityville school community. They were each recognized during SCOPE Education Services’ 25th Annual School District Awards Dinner, which took place on March 23.
SCOPE Education Services has recognized educators, administrators, support staff, and community members for more than two decades, highlighting those who make meaningful contributions to education across Long Island.
SCOPE, founded in 1964, is a nonprofit organization chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. The organization provides a range of services to school districts, including professional development, enrichment programs, childcare, and training opportunities for educators, parents, and students.
