Students at Northwest Elementary School in Amityville recently learned about the importance of dental hygiene during numerous assembles.

Kiddsmiles Pediatric Dentistry dentist Katie Neary-Paladino held an interactive presentation in which she led a discussion on dental health. The interactive presentation featured sad faces by the foods that are unhealthy for teeth, happy faces next to the foods that are healthy for teeth, and shocked faces at the sugar in apple juice and soda. After the presentation, Kiddsmiles held a question-and-answer session on tips to maintain a healthy set of teeth.

Additionally, Kiddsmiles supplied each of Northwest’s students with a goodie bag of items to support good dental hygiene at home. The district would like to thank Kiddsmiles for sharing their expertise on the importance of dental hygiene.
